Overview

This site is a personal portfolio and journal - a place for design and engineering work, and for the photography that sits alongside it.

The references span typography studies, motion design, and deliberate self-mythology - pulled from a dozen different sources and made to sound like one voice.

Technical

Built on Astro's islands architecture for static delivery with zero shipped JavaScript by default. Hand-written CSS with custom properties handles the design system, TypeScript runs end to end, and the site deploys to Vercel with analytics and speed insights turned on.

The motion layer is hand-rolled rather than framework-driven - Lenis for scroll physics, Anime.js for reveal transitions, a custom blend-mode cursor, and a hand-written text-scramble effect.

Reflection

A dream, finally given a home

This site is a long-held dream finally given a home - a place where my strangest projects could live out in the open. It was a challenge in design and in technical execution, and the most fun I've had making anything. I kept asking what the website of a person should evoke, so it carries my photography as much as it carries my work. Writing about myself in third person added a kind of fun mystery - like composing an obituary for someone I might, one day, be important enough to deserve. There are a dozen directions I want to take it next; for now, the groundwork is solid.
